Forge World Open Day 2016 - Part 1 - Blood Bowl, Horus Heresy Marines & AM, Lord of the Rings

Part One of the coverage...New Stuff.

Blood Bowl:

Expect end of year release, we shouldn't have to wait long till we get a confirmed release date and price. As this is being released world wide through GW stores they have to build in 4 months to ship stock to Australia.

As such blame them for the time it is taking.

Lord of The Rings:

Horus Heresy:

New Deredeo options.

Termies with Assault Canno above and below some shoddy pictures of the Moritat.

New Legion weapon sets:

Adeptus Mechanicum and Knights:

Pimping ride above and below the conversion sets we've seen pictures of before.

Painted 'Drone':

New Knight heads.

And the big mother of all Knights.

My favourite bit, the hand rails.

Painted up and a scale shot:

Previews from the next Horus Heresy book:

Some info and more pics in the next post.

  2. Thanks for all these pretty pictures! That knight Porphyrion looks almost the size of a Warhound...

I also love the fact it has feet similar to the Reaver.

Did they say how often they would release new teams for Blood Bowl ? Seems like they are fairly advanced with the Dwarfs and Skaven

    1. The Dwarfs and Skaven should be out very soon after the box is released. From what I remember from Warhammer Fest the first six teams will be plastic and will be coming out as two at a time. After that who knows, depends on how everything goes with the initial release.

  3. Even though the Skaven Thrower is clearly based off the Silver Tower Deathrunner, it's still a great model. I'd say all the BB and LotR models shown here are!

    1. Yeah, even though I don't have any interest in the LotR items I still really like the models.

  4. As cool as the models look for the hobbit release I'm very curious to learn what Forgeworld's desired return is on these models. To make a profit they will need to sell a certain volume, I personally can't believe that there is sufficiant demand for these models for it to be successful and GW knows that demand for Hobbit and LoTR miniatures is pathetically low relative to 40k and Age of Crap. So I'm curious if this is an expirament to see whether or not future releases can be justified based on sales.

All the 30k stuff is sick, I'm very curious to learn the rules of the new Admech stuff.

    1. Keep in mind that the quantity they need to sell for resin is a lot less than plastic, hence FW doing the Chaos Dwarf range previously (that was hardly every going to sell in big numbers).

I'm sure the AM bits will be in the next IA book so it shouldn't be long before we know more.
